  • Antibody Production: Once activated, B Cells rapidly proliferate, producing millions of antibodies that specifically recognize and bind to the antigens found on the pathogen’s surface. These antibodies neutralize the pathogens and mark them for destruction by other immune cells.
  • Cellular Response: Simultaneously, the helper T Cells activate killer T Cells and macrophages. Killer T Cells directly attack and destroy infected cells, whereas macrophages engulf and digest the invaders.
  • Memory Cells: Once the infection is conquered, some B Cells and T Cells transform into memory cells. These memory cells “remember” the pathogen, enabling a faster and more efficient response upon subsequent exposure to the same invader.
